Algae and other types of build-up often form on the north and west parts of roofs that are shaded or receive less sun, and can reduce a roof’s life expectancy. The presence of soot, dirt, or biomass can affect how much sunlight is absorbed by a roof and thus the amount of heat a building absorbs.
What is soft wash roof cleaning?
Soft washing is a cleaning method using low pressure and specialized solutions to safely remove mildew, bacteria, algae and other organic stains from roofs and other building exteriors. It is so named to differentiate the method from power washing.
Roof Cleaning Process
- Firstly we remove as much of the moss as possible by scraping it off with our specialist blades fitting all different roof tiles.
- We make sure all the moss has been cleaned out from your gutters and cleared up.
- Lastly we spray on the specialised solution and let it do its business.
- You can see results from a couple of weeks to months, potentially even a year depending on how bad the area was. The solution acts as a preventive and can last up to 2 years.
